These striped zippers are very trendy and will give your bag that little extra punch!
They sew very easily on a domestic machine—you can even stitch over the teeth! Although they look metallic, the teeth are actually nylon. Plus, this zipper tape gives you full flexibility: you decide the final length, the number of sliders, the direction of the sliders, and the style of the pulls.
Tips for Working with Striped Zippers:
 | Cut the zipper to the desired length, then carefully seal the tape ends and edge chain with a lighter to prevent fraying. |
 | Never cut through the edge chain! It reinforces the tape. If you need to reduce bulk in seams or corners, trim the surrounding fabric, not the zipper itself. |
 | Seeing "dancing" stripes? Lightly steam or iron the tape (avoid the coil) to stabilize the fabric before sewing. |
 | Use a fine sewing needle when attaching the zipper. Avoid thick (leather) needles; we recommend microtex needles for best results. |
